Soft PVC material is used for both sides of this cutting mat with Hard PVC in the middle. This cutting mat is designed for model making, with scale-plate and ruling on the surface. The surface material is soft as to protect your cutting blade and prolong it's life while also protecting your desk from the blade you are using. Roughly 12x18 inches this is the "medium mat" in the DSPIAE repertoire.
